ARRL Field Day this weekend!

This weekend is the 2022 ARRL Field Day event, when most participating Hams head off grid to operate,

I observed that from my side of the pond last year, with below average condx but still enjoyable, the bands were packed with people (almost exclusively from the Americas) having a field day:



Last night I went to my listening post at the dike hoping that the bad conditions of the past days improve a little, but instead they were even worse -- minor blackout conditions made 18MHz actually close down for me (which very rarely happens), That's why it didn't actually do any harm that some Spanish club scheduled a contest for the same date, but it didn't help either. :) First time I went to the dike for an all-nighter and fell asleep. :D

I played a bit, mostly on 75m SSB. I worked SD in very heavy static so that was fun.
