Re: Checking for suspicious CMC

Great advice! Too bad there are only 2 types of hams, the guys who read stuff like this and the guys who complain about their PA doing strange things (and blame the PA for it) in partially unreadable transmissions because the in-shack RF is destroying their modulation. I have a guy who's ...

Checking for suspicious CMC

Ok this one is more about tx than rx, still this old trick is easier and quicker than assembling an RF ammeter; in short, if one suspects about "RF in the shack" a quick way to check is to find the band where the problem(s) are more evident, at that point, pick a run of insulated wire and ...

Re: What's the best-looking shortwave tabletop receiver?

In my humble opinion, it's the Japan Radio NRD-515. Functional, utilitarian, without looking cheap. https://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/commrxvr/nrd515.jpg Cheers, Jock JRC rigs are, in my very humble opinion, the best engineered ones, just to say, a lot of them were built usin a modular approa...

Sanyo TA395 schematic

Hello, a friend found a Sanyo TA395 walkie talkie at a garage sale, and after picking it "for a song" decided to restore it, the problem is that we were unable to find the schematic, so here I am, asking for help

Re: [Test Post] Holy Grail Last Dodo BNC Antenna Switch

A note. Thomas, what about some section dedicated to the SWLing post blog ? I mean, a section with automated posts and links to new blogposts, it will act both as a reminder and to allow people to further discuss the topics

Re: [Test Post] Holy Grail Last Dodo BNC Antenna Switch

And that antenna switch? That thing is INSANE! What a find indeed. I may re-post this as an article on the SWLing Post. I'd love to learn if there are other BNC switch alternatives out there. Cheers, Thomas Hi Thomas, sounds like both SWLing and QRPer got their forums, I just wonder if it would hav...
