Thank you much for that.. Learning to change parts, or replace ribbons is easy, as long as I can see the problem, or just change parts till it fixes the issue.
May see if I can print that manual, as it's easier for me to use printed material than to scroll thru pages on a screen..

Thanks. I don't have any desktops, as my space is very limited, and what space I have is pretty full. Most of them are common radios, like the Eton 750, Panasonic 3100 and GE 7-2990 (working on a tuning gear for it).

So if I go to a hobby shop and ask for a 64 pitch 18 teeth gear, along with measurements, they can hook me up with one? And all I need do is shorten it to the same length as the original, and do some shaft work. might be a little more than what I can do.. but sometimes we have no choice. Mine is cra...
